In reality, most crimes are not detected. If they are detected they are not resolved. In many cases, the evidence does not even enable a prosecution.
The perpetrators of those crimes may forget what they have done, but the victims whether through personal assault, invasion of their homes, damage to their property or Internet exploitation are often traumatised by their ordeal. These are the people we should care for.
As PCC, I will hold the Chief Constable and the police service to account for how their actions are protecting for the innocent and comforting and supporting the victims of crime.
