As urban crime becomes more difficult because of surveillance cameras, rural crime becomes more attractive. However, the police cannot be everywhere and it takes manpower to cover large rural areas.

Increased community policing will bring the police closer to the community and the community closer to the police.

It will become easier to report unexpected and suspicious activities, and to keep an eye on the key hotspots of rural crime in the area.

Once caught those responsible should go through restorative justice programs to make them realise how devastating the effects they have on law-abiding communities and individuals.
