Why is Graham Colley right for Kent PCC?Graham is a long-time resident of Kent, living and working in Rochester as a solicitor. He is President of the Liberal Democrat Lawyers Association and used to work as a Legal Aid solicitor, so has real experience in dealing with the police, and of the issues they face in Kent. He has spent a lifetime fighting for human rights, civil liberties and access to justice - and is determined to use the limited police resources in Kent to prevent crime, aid victim support and cut reoffending rates. |
The votes have been counted ..And Matthew Scott won on the first round with more than 50%. Although disappointed, I take some comfort in that I received 16.9% of the vote, increasing the Lib Dem vote by 9% from the last PCC election and more than doubling our vote share. It was an interesting campaign time given that much of it took place in lockdown. I would like to thank the two opposing candidates for the spirit in which they approached their election runs. But my sincerest thanks go to those people of Kent and Medway who entrusted their vote to me and who wanted to demonstrate that it was time to think differently about how policing should work in our communities. I truly appreciate your support. Graham |

Policing Kent: It's about caring for our Community |
|
♥ Caring for our neighbourhoodsGraham believes in neighbourhood policing: 'the police are the public and the public are the police'. Local Police officers & Communities can achieve more together than on their own. ♥ Caring for our policeFor the Police to work for us, we must take care of them. They must be adequately trained & rewarded for their service. Errors should be seen as opportunities for learning and not as objects of instant criticism. ♥ Caring for each otherWe have to tackle crime from the roots up, using evidence of what's effective rather than misleading newsgrabbing slogans like 'Prison Works'. |
